Liam Gallagher in an NME list is not surprising though. Mainly because the NME is terrible!

Thanks now updated. I agree on Wolf Alice. A contender for my AOTY. Last album was no. 2 that year. Probably last band I discovered through NME.

Lorde will be their #1
Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
Hopefully Vince Staples will snatch Album of the Year. Though the fact DAMN was # 3, I can't imagine two rap albums in the top 3

Gah, so close!
Stormzy (like Wolf Alice) got five stars, so could be.

Thanks. They must have voted before got a chance to listen to Noel (or maybe they did).
Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
Well, first appearance of Taylor Swift so far. Given that I really don't like her new album, I was hoping she would stay out of the EOY picture completely, but I guess that was impossible. Whatever.

Looks like from the cover that Lorde may have best track too.
Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
I would expect her to start doing well once the U.S. lists start getting posted in earnest, the initially tepid Metascore notwithstanding. Reputation won't do as well as 1989 did, probably not even close, but it will be a presence.Pierre wrote:Well, first appearance of Taylor Swift so far. Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
I was reading the list on their site and I literally stopped at around #4 asking myself what songs were missing and I came to the realization that "Boys" would not be there. I love the song, but there was no way it would be in the top 3. And yet.. I hope for her that the song fares well on the other lists yet I don't think she'll end up that high that often
I'm surprised to see three explicitly pop songs back-to-back-to-back topping that chart. Green Light is a definite front-runner this year for the overall song of the year with maybe Humble in the runner-up seat.

Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
Congrats to Lorde on securing the double
Re: EOY 2017 - NME (UK)
I prefer "Supercut" to "Greenlight" but I am ecstatic that Lorde is having such a major year. She's a fantastic young talent. Also, yay for "Cut To The Feeling"
