One more thought re: this general topic - if you really want to ponder some cognitive dissonance, how about the fact that Jenny Lewis's album is doing so well (including #38 here) despite producer credit for one Ryan Adams. However, Lewis (probably out of necessity, given that the stories about Adams's behavior started breaking right before the album came out) did a great job of thoroughly disavowing him and minimizing his actual involvement in the recording, so that probably helped.

I mean, it would have been very ludicrous if Jenny Lewis's album had been punished just because the producer/guy who plays on half the songs was exposed as a dickhead. It's her album, not his.

As for Tool, if the allegation was discredited fair enough, but if it was it wasn't mentioned much in the media
