An interesting list! Interesting how the authors clearly weren't NOT aware of current events, since they mentioned Chris (aka Christine of the Queens/Redcar) being trans, but also were focused enough on objectivity to include songs by artists that have recently courted controversy (i.e. Ariel Pink, Kanye West, and Arcade Fire). Still a good selection, though. (Also, NO, that part of the country is NOT once and forever known as "Dixie," you darnfool British website, at least not to most normal people post-Civil War. The only people who still call it "Dixie" are NOT the kind of people who'd listen to Alabama Shakes. They're more the Toby Keith types...)
