RTSh (Albania): The Best Albums and Songs of 2020

Post by mileswide »

In the interest of trying to broaden AM's scope, I've found this list from Albania's main public broadcaster RTSh or Albanian Radio & TV. It's even got a local artist amongst its choices (if you count Dua Lipa as Albanian). Not 100% clear if ranked- there's a space between FTBC and the rest but that could be a formatting error and there's no numbering or anything in the preamble (as long as Google Translate hasn't let me down) to suggest any hierarchy.

1. Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters
2. Chloe x Halle - Ungodly Hour
3. Bob Dylan - Rough and Rowdy Ways
4. Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
5. Roísín Murphy - Roísín Machine
6. Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA
7. Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion - WAP
8. Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky
9. Taylor Swift - folklore
10. Lady Gaga feat. Ariana Grande - Rain on Me

That’s so cool! Have they done earlier EOY lists?

Doesn't look like it, no other results came up when I googled and there was nothing else of this nature when I searched 'albumet' & 'këngët' (songs) on this site. I would've liked to have seen a glimpse of Albania's pop scene but hopefully someone else can dig deeper?

I used to have the time for such dives, so who knows? Always happy to see more lists from underrepresented countries.

I can see you've made another plunge into Finnish and New Zealander waters already, some strong finds so far!
