Fast 'n' Bulbous - 1000 Best Albums of All Time [2021 Update]

Post by Mason »

The 2015 version of this list has been in AM for some time, but upon looking through the wayback machine, it's been updated periodically since then. The most recent update is particularly interesting to me since there's a new #1 all time. And it's an album from this year!

Full list: http://fastnbulbous.com/list-search/

I'm unsure of how continually-updated lists like this work with eligibility and what not. Let me know if it's not eligible for whatever reason.

The most recent update is particularly interesting to me since there's a new #1 all time. And it's an album from this year!
That ... kind of seems like a mistake. Strange, at the very least.

And it’s an album I literally can’t find anywhere...

Here's the EP's bandcamp page. All of the songs (except one) seem to be behind a paywall.

I'm leaning towards it being a mistake as well.

I asked the account tied to this website on Twitter about this. As of now I'm awaiting a response.

It's no mistake, this is without a doubt the finest combination of soundwaves that have ever entered my ears. I'd even take it a step further and say this is the greatest work of art I've experienced whether it be by sight, sound, smell, taste or touch. The face of music, no, not just music, but life on Earth itself will never be the same.

In all seriousness (well, partially), it sounds like something my teenage daughters and the homeless guy down the road could have made. That's my eldest on vocals.

For sure it's a mistake. F'n'B has great taste in 60s-80s records but very strong anti-recency bias. You need to scroll for a while to find anything made in the last 20 years, and the more recent stuff he likes is almost exclusively heavy psych rock.

It looks like it was a mistake. The album was removed from the list.

I'll try to copy it but i can't, but anyways, it would be necessary to copay all the albums? I think it's a list in permanent updating.

Thanks all for including me, it's an honor. I've used Acclaimed Music since the beginning, could have sworn I had a forum account, but it must be lost to another time.

Yes, my list is a bit slippery, a living, changing thing as long as I'm alive and listening. Apologies if that makes extra work for anyone.

There tend to be changes as I go through phases and focus on particular artists and years. And every year I discover albums from previous decades that are new to me, somewhere between 300 and 800 every year. You'd think it would slow down, but it just doesn't. The past couple years I've been participating in daily countdowns with Sea of Tranquility for certain years (1972/82/92, 1973/83/93) which I post on my site, and am gearing up to start 1974 on Monday.

I'm also working on an updated favorite artists of all time, and reconsidering the catalogs of artists like Sparks. Also, after having a couple big reggae binges over a decade ago, I've realized some albums I hadn't returned to as much as I'd thought and adjusted rankings accordingly.

I just saw your post now. Thanks for letting us know about your progress and listening habits. :music-listening: It’s an honor to have you here!

Of course you should update your list along with your listening, even if it makes it hard to use your current list on AM. ;)
