JK Simmons will always be J Jonah Jameson to me. Fantastic actor (given the right role).
Thanks for a great rollout Holden! I was on the edge of my seat for the top 10.

Thanks for another fantastic rollout Holden. A phenomenal top five as well to say the least.

One thing I’m a bit disappointed about, and not saying that this is anyone’s fault (my list certainly didn’t help in this regard), more saying it is a societal/film industry issue, is that the highest ranking female-directed film is #39! The film world seems to be still a bit behind the music world in that regard.

Thanks for hosting this wonderful journey, Holden.

I would guess the fact that this is a music forum gave it a boost too.Harold wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:07 pm Great rollout of a fascinating list. I'm sorry I didn't participate.
I was also initially surprised to see Whiplash so high; I love the film, but wasn't expecting it to be the 4th highest ranked for the entire decade. The more I think about it, though, the more I realize how hard it is to shake the film. And J.K. Simmons's performance as Fletcher may be the single finest piece of acting of the decade. One of the most deserved Academy Awards ever, for one of the most deserving actors.
Great job, Holden!

Thanks, Holden. Some surprising results, with a number 1 that I haven't seen yet. Whiplash is the only film in the top 10 that I voted for. It gives a good idea of how stressful and competitive music education can be. I had seven female directors in my top 50, including Alice Rohrwacher, Sofia Coppola, Debra Granik and Jasmila Zbanic.
De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum.

I really wish I had participated in this one! This was a great list and it was refreshing to see Parasite claim the top spot despite the anti-recency bias that typically occurs in end of decade lists.
My taste is relatively in line with this list but if I had voted it would have boosted Moonrise Kingdom, Ex Machina, Drive, Burning, Arrival, Her, Sicario, and Zootopia.
