This is the thread where we'll be discussing Frank Herbert's Dune.

You can discuss anything you'd like about the section of the novel we are reading. From the 5th of May to the 12th we'll be discussing the section of the book from "A beginning is the time..." to "Why did they choose me for their abomination?". This thread will probably contain spoilers so be careful when reading the posts in this thread. If by next week you haven't caught up with the previous section we discussed feel free to post about it. Just don't post about anything in any of the sections we haven't gotten to.

Schedule:
"A beginning is the time..." - "Why did they choose me for their abomination?" (May 5th-12th)
"How do we approach the study of Muad'Dib's father?" - "They have tried to take the life of my son!" (May 12th-19th)
"Over the exit of the Arrakeen landing field..." - "I like this Duke" (May 19th-26th)
"Greatness is a transitory experience." - "The tooth!" (May 26th-June 2nd)

"There should be a science of discontent" - "... saw the dark shapes of ornithopters above them." (June 2nd-9th)
"My father once told me..." - "How inadequate it appeared when measured against such creature as that worm." (June 9th-16th)
"We came from Caladan..." - "What a priceless thing is here for an outcast Duke!" (June 16th-23rd)
"The Fremen were supreme..." - "She is my enemy" (June 23rd-30th)
"The concept of progress..." - "...someday..." (June 30th-July 7th)

"Deep in the human unconscious..." - "And the storm was gathering" (July 7th-14th)
"When law and duty..." - "'All paths lead into darkness'" (July 14th-21st)
"And that day dawned..." - the end of the book (July 21st-28th)
