Book list:

Somebody asked, literally years ago, whether there is something like A.M. for books.
I think we were in general agreement that there isn't really – and that one possible reason that it is a difficult task may be the fact that written texts have been around for like 5000 years, while recorded music goes back only app. 2% of that period.

Now it seems that somebody made a list pretty much along the lines of Henrik's principles for A.M.:

There does seem to be a certain tendency that for books to make it, they must be either old or written in English, although García Márquez at no. 4 does provide an exception to the rule.

(Apologize if everybody interested knew this already, and I just haven't paid attention)

Going over the list, I found it a fun excercise to see which was the first title I hadn't ever heard about (I've read some of the top ones, but obviously very far from all). It happened at 104.
