An interesting list, for sure. I appreciate the inclusion of "Little Bit".

Boy this is a horrid list!

"I Want You Back" was not the Jackson 5 debut, They had 2 or 3 singles before that one. Phil Collins, you can't count a star from a big group who has a solo release as a debut. How the fuck are "Maybelline" and "Bo Diddley" not on there????

Sam & Dave had liked 7 singles before "Hold On, I'm Comin."

Here's a GOOD list on the same subject:

https://digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best ... ingle.html

"Our Lips Are Sealed" was not the Go-Go's debut single. They had an earlier version of "We Got The Beat" out on Stiff like a year before that.

I dunno. I put it on the lists thread. Henrik's understandably taking a minute to sort through them all and all the album lists/most of the songs lists haven't been added in a few updates since he was just focused on including EOY lists.

I like this list more than the RS one, for sure. (LOVE Gone Daddy Gone!) I’d be interested in seeing a list of debut singles as they are on AM.

The most acclaimed debut single on AM is "Anarchy in the UK". I'll try to do a fuller list over the weekend!

I decided to try and start a list of just the debut albums from AM. I'm not done yet (3000 is a lot of albums) but here's the top fourty:
1 (4) | The Velvet Underground & Nico | The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967)
2 (12) | Sex Pistols | Never Mind the Bollocks - Here's the Sex Pistols (1977)
3 (14) | The Jimi Hendrix Experience | Are You Experienced? (1967)
4 (23) | Patti Smith | Horses (1975)
5 (24) | Television | Marquee Moon (1977)
6 (27) | Arcade Fire | Funeral (2004)
7 (30) | The Doors | The Doors (1967)
8 (36) | The Strokes | Is This It (2001)
9 (37) | Massive Attack | Blue Lines (1991)
10 (39) | Ramones | Ramones (1976)
11 (54) | Jeff Buckley | Grace (1994)
12 (55) | The Stone Roses | The Stone Roses (1989)
13 (59) | Portishead | Dummy (1994)
14 (63) | Guns N' Roses | Appetite for Destruction (1987)
15 (65) | The Clash | The Clash (1977)
16 (67) | Joy Division | Unknown Pleasures (1979)
17 (69) | R.E.M. | Murmur (1983)
18 (71) | John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band | John Lennon/Plastic Ono (1970)
19 (74) | De La Soul | 3 Feet High and Rising (1989)
20 (76) | DJ Shadow | Endtroducing..... (1996)
21 (81) | The Jesus and Mary Chain | Psychocandy (1985)
22 (89) | Derek and The Dominos | Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs (1970)
23 (90) | The Band | Music from Big Pink (1968)
24 (93) | Oasis | Definitely Maybe (1994)
25 (100) | Pixies | Surfer Rosa (1988)
26 (104) | Wu-Tang Clan | Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (1993)
27 (106) | Pavement | Slanted and Enchanted (1992)
28 (109) | N.W.A | Straight Outta Compton (1988)
29 (120) | Pink Floyd | The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967)
30 (122) | Elvis Presley | Elvis Presley (1956)
31 (124) | Lauryn Hill | The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998)
32 (127) | Dr. Dre | The Chronic (1992)
33 (128) | Elvis Costello | My Aim Is True (1977)
34 (130) | Air | Moon Safari (1998)
35 (132) | Led Zeppelin | Led Zeppelin (1969)
36 (135) | Björk | Debut (1993)
37 (136) | Pearl Jam | Ten (1991)
38 (139) | King Crimson | The Court of the Crimson King (1969)
39 (142) | Daft Punk | Homework (1997)
40 (145) | Arctic Monkeys | Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006)

A few asides that have literally nothing to do with debuts:
1. I remain forever shocked that Debut remains Bjork's highest album. Not because of quality, as it is my personal favorite of hers, but looking around music websites and magazines, it seems as though most people agree that Homogenic is the best.
2. Likewise with Homework by Daft Punk. Again, my favorite, but most review sites give it only 3-4 stars, compared to Discovery and RAM which usually get 4-5.
