I think the main issue is the list feels almost randomly composed. We got classic albums at like 80 then a new SZA project above it. It’s just weird.

It's weird, but it's also refreshing as someone who's been around looking at lists long enough that seeing critics willing to put new shit over old shit is more of the norm nowadays. Yeah, you can scream "recency bias," but when watchdogs like Jann Wenner have been dictating the vibe of music criticism for so many years, it's nice to see there's at least an admission that there's good new music coming from non-legacy acts.

Granted, this list seems pretty random. Album charts usually try to strike a balance between classics and new releases, but it seems like they didn't do a good job of that this time. Do you have any albums from the '80s that you think should be on the list? Or what do you think of SZA's new project?
