Hüsker Dü – Green Eyes: 6
Lightly entertaining, but for the second time in a short while I feel this band isn't represented at their best.

The Go! Team – We Just Won’t Be Defeated: 8
Poorly recorded, maybe on purpose, but that somehow makes this thing more jubilant en defiant in the face of defeat. It's hard to reason about, but I find this absolutely giddy in the best way.

It seems that Miguel joins Hüsker Dü with a last-ditch effort of coming from nothing, but getting as many places in Biggest Fan as possible. M24 facilitates, just three days after the last Miguel song.

993. Miguel - Waves

I like this album, probably wouldn't have chosen to single this song out in a list though
993. Miguel - Waves - 8
Definitely the better of the two Miquel tracks, very catchy

Last week of Biggest Fan – 2nd Edition starts now!
Now, by now I know many of you will pretend to be above an Artist like Pitbull, but you’re not fooling him. He knows you want him (Calle Ocho). At least kaue admits it.

994. Pitbull – I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)
Year: 2009
Album: Pitbull Starring in Rebelution

This song was in the running for my list and puts a big dumb grin on my face every time I hear it. Fuck it: I know I want to give Calle Ocho a 10!
Yes, I have given 10’s to both Pitbull and Handel. That’s just how I roll!

Coincidentally, I actually went to a classical concert this afternoon where they played both Bach and Handel. When I got home I had to listen to Pitbull.

As far as idiotic music goes this is at least something I can stomach, but it also gets old very fast.

For his latest wildcard choice mileswide takes us to Prenzlauerberg, which is actually a locality of Berlin and not Beirut. It is the third appearance of Beirut (the band) here.

The cover art for the album made me expect a sort of tacky, eighties rap desperately aimed at teens (but now from Africa), but this actually good African dance music.

So, the way I do the final 3 picks is not just randomly picking 3 songs from the total list, but I randomly pick the lucky user first. So everybody has as much chance of getting one last song in. Users can’t get more than one in this way.
The first who can strike another Biggest Fan appearance of his wishlist is phil. It marks the third Pearl Jam appearance here, as well as the first AM top 10.000 song in some time, as it ranks at #7560.

998. Pearl Jam - Wishlist

This last one's tough. I heard it all the time in the house as a kid, so I've got familiarity warring with sameness over my rating. I'll test my rating later this week.

Pearl Jam - Wishlist

5

My least favorite experience as a music listener is when there’d be the new album by some beloved artist, it’d have some good reviews, I was very much up for liking it… and then I didn’t really like it. It’s like I’d ruined the party. I tried for a while with Pearl Jam but didn’t like much of their output after Vitalogy.

The second lucky amoeba to get an extra song in is Emerald, who uses the opportunity to add some more adolescent punk to the list.

999. Adolescents - Amoeba
Year: 1981*
Album: Adolescents
Biggest Fan: Emerald (#508)
* There was an earlier version recorded and released for a special compilation in 1980, but the 1981 album recording is the one available nowadays, so I’m assuming that’s the one from Emerald’s list.

There comes a time in anyone's life when you desperately need to shout the word "amoeba" over and over along a punk song. Nothing else will do in that situation. If you haven't experienced this yet, you will.

We started this edition of Biggest Fan with a song written for a Bionicle commercial and we end it, as all things must, with Canadian rap reggae. The song was a hit at the time and ranks at #6685 on AM. Live in Phoenix is of course the one to get this final honor. I just wish he gave me an artist who it was easier to find if they ever performed in Phoenix, but the name “Snow” doesn’t make for an easy search. Someone named Snow Tha Product did in fact give a show in Phoenix, but that is someone else. There’s also Miike Snow, Snow Patrol, Snøw and other such fakers coming up, but sadly I have to leave you hanging on the question whether today’s specific Snow has ever performed in Phoenix. Maybe Live in Phoenix knows? What kind of reggae artist – the most sundrenched genre this side of desert blues – calls himself Snow anyway?
What I can say is that no snow is expected in Phoenix today. It actually seems to be quite warm, or is that normal for Phoenix in this time of year?
Whatever, I want to finish the results this year and plan to release the final results at December 28th! If you still have catching up to do, than I just have the Christmas family activity for you.

1000. Snow – Informer
Year: 1992
Album: 12 Inches of Snow
Biggest Fan: Live in Phoenix (#966)

Thank you for the fun ride, Rob! And it’s nice that I at least know the last song, even if it isn’t my favorite. My final score (unless I somehow get a chance to go back and listen to more songs I didn’t rate before) will go licky-boom-boom-down as a 5.
