For the most part this sounds like a regular punk song to me. Maybe you had to be there. Still, there is definitely a need sometimes for a song that shouts "Betray!" a couple of times. I also like the sort-of break at two thirds in.

No! I’m not ready yet for what is most likely my last nomination! Here we are though and we get the third Alice Cooper pick and the second Cooper song from my own list, making met apparently the Biggest Alice Cooper Fan of the game! The song also ranks on AM, at #2946.

928. Alice Cooper – No More Mr. Nice Guy
Year: 1973
Album: Billion Dollar Babies
Biggest Fan: Rob (#597)

Alice Cooper – No More Mr. Nice Guy

10

The city of Phoenix claims Alice Cooper, and for a long time, he was basically God here. I'm more of a Meat Puppets fan, but anyway this is my favorite Cooper song.

No More Mr. Nice Guy gets a 6 from me. There are other songs of his I like better, but this is a fun one.

This was tastier than I expected. I didn’t remember Minor Threat having any tunes to their name besides “Filler.”

Alice Cooper – No More Mr. Nice Guy: 9
He has made some good serious songs, but usually I like Alice Cooper best when he is basically rocks greatest clown, like here. At once it functions as a bad-ass rock song that rivals The Rolling Stones while at the same time the lyrics are so ridiculous and funny that it deflates all the swagger. And still, behind that it is just a great primal rock song to, yes, swagger too. This will always be the first type of song when I think of "rock", for better or worse (mostly better in my opinion).

Just one day after we get a classic rock radio staple it seems like Akhenaten is putting the whole genre to a stop. Some critics agree with the rock boycot, as the track is bubbling under on AM.

Apollo 440 – Stop the Rock: 7
So, this isn't anti-rock at all. The say "Can't stop the rock". Why call your it Stop the Rock than? It might attract the wrong type of people!
Anyway, it's pretty good, actually. Lot of energy.

Didn't recognize the band or title, but I recognized the song within a couple of seconds of listening. Brings back memories of (probably?) playing some Fifa game in the late 90s or early 00s. Fun song.

Just a week after Geoffrey treated us to a mammoth Mahler song, he’s back with something far shorter. It’s also not one of his signature classical picks.

The Millennium – It’s You: 8
Great album, great song. Begin is just great pop rock of the sixties.

Charlie Peacock – In the Light: 3
The absolute badness of Christian rock remains one of the most fascinating phenomena of popular music for me. It's not that great Christian music doesn't exist, because it does. It also isn't that I can't relate to religious music by default, because I have in the past. But this specifically American group of musical believers seem to be in a sort race to see who can make the most halfhearted and tacky produced songs of all time. In this case the lyrics aren't even awful, but the singing and just the whole sound is so bad that I find it hard to believe this artist really convinced in his calling.

Ed Harcourt – The Storm Is Coming: 7
Feels like the indie light pop rock that would get a lot of airplay in the early 2010's, but with a little bit more power to it. Quite good.

Don't you mean andy1010, or do you also want the colour green?

Anyway, I also agree that this works best in context. It's one of the few tracks of the album I don't think I've ever heard out of context before and I probably never will again, but I can't deny it's a great interlude.

I kind of like the music, but her singing style (not her vocal capabilities) just overemphasizes stuff too much for my liking. It's just a little too grand.

According to Pete Townshend’s own liner notes Jesus sings on today’s song! That’s quite a thing to say from a musician who doesn’t identify as a Christian. BryanBehar is already converted and critics are getting there, as the Bubblin’ under status proves. How about you?
Counting the one song by The Who, this is the second appearance by Pete Townshend.
