"This book is a collection of 120 reviews of albums published between 2010 and 2020, that end of the world we call the present, linked by the commonality of Ibero-American roots and by artists who became adults between screens, the internet and global connectivity. The short story of a decade in which trap, electronic and experimental fusions are animated by the energy of dissidence and in which centennial sadness is reflected in a disjointed pop. There are increasingly younger young people and increasingly greater creative ambitions. A snapshot that captures the material and metaphysical landscapes around these works and their time."

I'm not sure what you're talking about because I don't know of any precedent for a book being ineligible, other than music books that are not about albums/songs or simply the artwork on the covers.

This book is a collection of 120 reviews of albums

https://www.acclaimedmusic.net/forums/v ... hp?t=15539 this book also mentions the albums from reviews

if its a source ranked or unranked about important albums songs aesthetically historically, culturally except from best/greatest/top type of sources its ok with me , a little broader than Henrik's perception (i am not deciding what he is going to do with AM)

but including a list of reviewed albums i think it doesn't add value to the site although i post such lists if i find them interesting

Ok. It's a debatable point there. The other book you mentioned seems to me not to be a book of music reviews. Likewise, sometimes there is also a totally interpretable point about the intention of the book. I think it could be eligible but I'm not 100 percent sure either. I'll wait for Henrik's decision later.

''Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung: The Work of a Legendary Critic: Rock 'n' Roll as Literature and Literature as Rock 'n' Roll is a collection of essays written by rock music critic Lester Bangs....''

the spotify playlist states that if features every track that makes an appearance in the collection of essays in the book

''Marcus explains that, "Perhaps what this book demands from a reader is a willingness to accept that the best writer in America could write almost nothing but record reviews."

So its clearly formulated what the Lester's Bangs book is about

We dont count reviews , so my opinion on this matter is that its not debatable .... plus neither Henrik nor anyone can re check every source posted for eligibility (i think the site needs more editing and decluttering than adding sources at this moment) , thats why i have suggested for other members to state their opinions but in the end it seems when someone states his/her opinion but others dont agree with him/her that someone always bring up Henrik ... Henrik decides whats happening with AM but he isnt always right and thats totally normal and human...

p.s. the more and more time i have invested in the site it seems that more questions are created rather than answers

I read your arguments but it has no relation to the list I shared. The other is a collection of reviews written in a medium and what it aims to do is compile the work of a journalist. This is not the case, they are not pre-written reviews, it is not designed to demonstrate the work of the journalist. You are making a misinterpretation.

But you go even further and you have already decided that it is not eligible. We had a totally debatable difference of ideas but you preferred to act as judge and transfer the list under your subjective criteria, unfortunately that discourages supporting this type of work. This type of decisions do not help a good future in the Acclaimed Music compilation of elegible lists.

the list you shared state it clearly "This book is a collection of 120 reviews of albums published between 2010 and 2020''

,the sources can change anytime ,for example there are sources that i came back more than 5 times to decide their place or to edit them

Hi everyone.

Thanks a lot for your interest in the book and feedback.

A friend brought this conversation to my attention. I would like to clarify that the book contains 120 original reviews written exclusively for the book. Moreover, despite not being ranked but ordered chronologically, the 120 albums were chosen to portray the decade in Latin American independent music.

I should also add that the writing for each album tries to go a bit beyond old fashioned reviews. A lot has been written about the albums and in most cases evaluating an album that has been out for over a decade seems of little interest. The texts try to approach scenes, artists, and cultural moments more than just saying how an album sounds or if it is good or bad.

Some of the book's online descriptions are a bit fuzzy about this, I just wanted to give you my input.

I hope you enjoy the book and the music!

It's such an honor!!!

I was checking the interview on Pitchfork, and it confirms my idea that the curation of the list is based on what you consider influential for capturing Ibero-American indie over those 11 years.

"Through its look and feel, the book transports you to peak blog era—you almost want to click the genre tags and sidebars to learn more—but it more closely resembles a curated archive of underground movements. By way of 120 reviews of influential albums, the Bolivian-born, Bogotá-based music critic and professor traces the scenes and sounds that shaped the decade, including Mexican ruidosón, Chilean synth pop, deconstructed club music from Venezuela, and everything in between."

https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/this-gre ... -diaspora/

As a lover of Latin American music, it's a privilege, thank you for writing to us. I hope Henrik, the creator of the site, takes the time to review what you've written. And well, I hope this list is analyzed with the right criteria, one that is close to its author's perspective.
